About Aracari

About Kelsey, Our Founder

Kia ora! I'm Kelsey.

I thrive on helping people navigate their New Zealand Immigration journey as smoothly as possible.

Having experienced the immigration process myself, I understand how daunting and stressful it can be. Filling out forms, gathering documents, understanding requirements…it's a lot to manage in addition to your already busy life.

Thankfully, I had access to an immigration adviser through my employment, and it made all the difference. Having someone to call on for support and guidance was a huge source of comfort. Now, I'm fortunate enough to do the same for others.

I began my career in the immigration industry in 2019, and became a Licensed Immigration Adviser in 2022 - the same year I proudly became a New Zealand citizen!

Starting my immigration career in a corporate setting, I worked for a global consulting firm for several years, assisting companies of various sizes and individuals with New Zealand immigration compliance, with a focus on mobilising staff across countries. I later joined a boutique immigration firm, providing personalised advice to individuals, families, and small businesses. Most recently, I led the immigration practice at a law firm, gaining valuable insights into the wider legal profession.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures through their visa journeys. As a fellow migrant, I fully understand how personal the immigration process is, and the importance of trustworthy guidance at every step.

In addition to my advisory work, I am Secretary of the Committee of New Zealand Association of Immigration Professionals. This helps me stay connected with my peers, keep up with industry developments, and do my bit to contribute to the growth of our profession.

About Aracari

Immigration can be complex, but getting the right advice shouldn't be.

Aracari was founded with one goal: to provide reliable, straightforward, and affordable immigration support you can trust. Whether you're applying for a visa, exploring your next steps, or navigating the finer details of immigration policy, I'm here to help.

My focus is on making your experience as smooth, clear, and stress-free as possible. That said, it is very much a two-way street. While I provide advice and support, there are parts of the process which will require your timely input, effort and communication. This will help keep everything on track and give your matter the best possible chance of success.

Over the years, I have amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience. But I also know the value of humility: I don't claim to know everything! What sets me apart is my ability to recognise when something falls outside my areas of expertise. I draw on my strong network of trusted professionals, always learning, growing and staying up to date to ensure you get the best possible support.

The Story Behind the Name "Aracari"

The name Aracari carries deep personal and cultural meaning. In te reo Māori, ara means "pathway" or "passageway," symbolising a journey of change and transformation.

A vibrant bird from the Toucan family, the aracari reminds me of my unique upbringing in lush tropical environments, near ancient Maya ruins. The Collared Aracari was a familiar sight in our garden, its striking colours a reminder of the rich natural and cultural heritage surrounding us.

A Collared Aracari, the inspiration behind our name

Though aracaris aren't migratory, birds have long symbolised travel, transition and growth. The colours used throughout this brand are inspired by the aracari's vivid plumage, a mixture of colours that are also important to the Maya civilisation.

In the Maya world, red, yellow, white, and black represent the four cardinal directions (East, South, North, and West).

Aracari is a reflection of where I come from, the cultures that shape me, and the colourful path I'm carving forward.
